There is also a second category of alarm systems where you can choose whether you want to have monthly costs. There are only monthly costs if you report the alarm not only on your smartphone, but also let it arrive at a central control room. In general, you only choose to be connected to an incident room under the following circumstances:
- Employer of system owner does not allow you to answer / view the phone during working hours (This prevents you from receiving incoming alarms yourself).
- People don’t want to call the police themselves in case of a burglary report for another reason.
- Elderly people in particular are afraid to call the police or do not respond quickly enough to the message received.
- One lives alone, and has no possibility to send reports to other family members on their smartphone.
In the above situations, an extra report to a central control room can provide extra peace of mind, as you can then be sure that someone is watching, and react if necessary.

- Only verified reports may be passed on to the police, which means that a minimum of 2 reporters must go into alarm.

Fact: Subscription prices of alarm systems that are always taken out in combination with an alarm centre are many times higher than the subscription costs for an alarm system where there is a free choice to connect to an alarm centre. With the latter, you are also free to choose which control room you choose, so you simply choose the cheapest one, and the one that offers the best service for you.

If you choose to be connected to a system with a free choice of connection, you pay a considerably lower monthly amount for this. In other words: Always opt for an alarm system in which you can control the entire system yourself and receive notifications yourself, e.g. on your smartphone. Then you have the choice between calling the police yourself or having the incident room do this. You always pay a lower amount to that control room because you have a choice of which control room you choose and are therefore not tied to the control room with which the company from the first category above cooperates.
